Matt Ridley, the author of "How innovation works" explains the difference
between Invention and Innovation.
He defines invention as the art of creating something new. Its often a response
to "why not!".
On the other hand, he defines innovation as something that is useful and one
that a stakeholder is willing to pay for.
That definition seems to work.
