I remember an advice from a group partner at Y Combinator during office hours
related to hiring your early team was to hire people, who believe in the mission
and are willing to join you because they want to see the change your company is
going to bring if it succeeds as their personal success.

An easy way to identify these people is that, people who believe in the
Founders’s vision and mission will negotiate on ESOPs, ownerships and
responsibilities whereas the others will negotiate on salary, work hours and
