I love to #buildinpublic to make friends, get feedback and share my tips & talk
about mistakes in the hopes that no one else will commit them.
I had no niche.
I started out by writing everything interesting but mostly around startups & VCs
but when I started to build wishboard.co I confined my posts to learnings and
mistakes.
Good news happened unexpectedly when I talked about social impact & good things
around us.
The internet is full of noise and it is a pain to discover positive news so I
tried to amplify them.
I found few people interested in it so I had an idea and to test it out I
created a WhatsApp group to share whatever good news I found.
Group grew to ~ 80 in 3 days.
The MVP worked so I bought a domain, built the website and added a subscribe
button to link it to my WhatsApp.
I started to send out โactualโ newsletters everyday like these:

My broadcast list ~ 100.
(also moved from WhatsApp group to broadcast format)
I tried to interact with as many subscribers as possible to know their story and
get feedback on newsletters.
Feedback was mainly around readability which included small font size and long
content.
I paused for two days to work on the feedback.
To improve the readability & reduce consumption time I wrote mini-newsletters
which can fit on mobile screens and I called them Good Cards.
Broadcast size ~ 150.
What helped me grow is proactively seeking feedback and quickly solving the pain
points.
