🧐 2020’s IPO Window Controversy

According to longtime VC Todd Chaffee (Forbes Midas List 2009 - 2018, NY Times
Top 100 Venture Capitalist 2016 - 2019), the late-stage scene is now β€˜M&A
world’.

Why?
Economic downturn shut down the IPO market, leaving M&As as the preferred exit
option.

BUT β€”
Has the IPO window really closed?

COVID-19 might have induced a lull, but the market has certainly picked up:
β†’ Lemonade (IPO price: $29 | current share price: $92)
β†’ Snowflake ($120 | $270)
β†’ Unity ($52 | $146)
β†’ DoorDash ($102 | $160)
β†’ Airbnb ($68 | $104)

PLUS more IPOs are in the pipeline: Affirm, Roblox, Robinhood.

Seems like 2020 will finish as a historic year when it comes to IPOs!

What are your thoughts? πŸ€”
M&As or IPOs? What’s the best exit strategy at the moment? πŸ—£οΈ πŸ’¬
